I was mainly joking about the MIni-14's perceived accuracy issues, but now I'm interested — Fox was hit with multiple .223 rounds and was still running? Do you happen to know what type of ammo was used in the rifle? I use a .223 as my primary home defense rifle.

I'd also like to point out that the officer with the Mini-14 "returned fire" without hitting Fox, but the officer with the shotgun dropped him with one round.

They usually tell the person to hide.

I've always wondered if the 911 operator has any liability if they manage to talk someone into putting their weapon down, and then the victim is injured or killed.

Note, however, that he *had* a means of protection. The police confiscated it afterwards.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Wells has another weapon handy, in case the "kid's" friends come back to finish the job.

It would be interesting to find out where the kid got his weapon. Was it legally purchased? Stolen?

It is very unfortunate that a life had to be taken, and at the same time, very fortunate for the man that he had his means of protection on his body.

I'm actually not sure of the law in Ohio, but in most places you don't. I know that if I lived in an area like that, I'd have it close at hand.
